STELLA OH
Artist, Art Educator, Curator
Stella Oh is a South Korean visual artist based between New York and Seoul.
Working primarily in printmaking and drawing, she examines urban violence and systems of control in contemporary landscapes.
Through observations of wounded urban nature, Oh creates work that explores displacement, borders, and survival under capitalism. Her printmaking practice uses repetitive processes that mirror both urban destruction and the persistence of organic life.
Oh's work addresses crises of belonging, environmental degradation, and the militarization of everyday space. Her paintings focus on architectural elements like staircases and windows, transforming these spaces into abstract compositions that explore identity and constructed environments.
Oh holds an MA in Arts and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she worked as an art teacher at Teachers College Community School. She received a BA in Art History and Studio Art from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she worked as a curatorial assistant at UB Art Galleries. Her work has been exhibited across the United States and South Korea.
